Took a break from crumb blocks today and picked up another project on my list. I decided this table runner will be my homage to Mardi Gras. The purples, greens, and yellows are right anyway.
The two fabrics in the pinwheels are actually from old feed sacks, collected by my mother-in-law for years on the farm. We found a big box of them after she passed away. The top and back have been pieced for a while, waiting to be quilted and bound. I did some simple straight line quilting and made a binding from a matching purple polka dot. I hope to finish hand sewing the binding tomorrow or Wednesday. I have some pieces of sack cloth left over and may try my hand at some napkins to match.
